Namibia is a clean and pleasant travel country where you can easily lose yourself in an overwhelming tour. The capital of Namibia is Windhoek and with more than 2 million inhabitants, there is no crazy crowds here.
Sparsely populated is an understatement
A deserted, vast landscape, where the distances between towns, villages and hamlets are often hundreds of kilometers. Because of this you sometimes have the feeling that you are the only person on this planet. Namibia is particularly varied. A fascinating desert landscape in the west with the beautiful red dunes of Sossusvlei, the wildlife park Etosha National Park in the north, the hot springs of Ai Ais in the south and the Caprivi Strip in the east with its special flora and fauna. A surprising encounter with a country that has a lot to offer.
Cities in Namibia
The country is vast and offers a lot of variety, especially to the itinerant visitor. There are also some cities more than worth a visit. In addition to Windhoek, which has about 240.000 inhabitants, you can make stops in Rehoboth, Grootfontein, Keetmanshoop, Omaruru and Okahandja. The capital is located in the rolling highlands, while Rehoboth is a beautiful colonial town. Don't forget to visit the coastal town of Swakopmund!
National Parks in Namibia at a glance
The nature is wonderful in this country and reason enough to travel to the south of Africa. Damaraland with its rocks and acacia trees, the rugged Brandberg, Cape Cross and of course the various national parks invite you to a wonderful stay in this country. The main parks are Etosha National Park, Caprivi Game Park, Fish River Canyon National Park, and Skeleton Coast Park.
